Quality

     of our Homes


Pre-1919 tenement properties account for around 20% of our overall stock numbers. We have commissioned consultants to investigate what options we have for improving our tenements in terms of energy efficiency, layout and on-going maintenance. We are doing this through detailed work on five pilot projects within some of our communities

​New Homes
 

In 2019/20 we completed 43 new homes in East Kilbride and South Ayrshire. We also started construction on 227 homes at sites in Glasgow and South Ayrshire.

 

We have made significant progress with our ambition to develop Passivhaus Standard homes in Glasgow and at the end of March 2020, we secured grant funding to support the delivery of 111 new homes to Passivhaus standard over the next two to three years.

 

We continue to work closely with our development partners to provide new homes to as high a standard as we can creating attractive spaces where our tenants can enjoy and be proud to call their home. WSHA believes that good design standards is fundamental to help communities thrive and sustain well into the future. 

Repairs Service
 

We have seen improvements with our repairs services and want to build on this by undertaking an options appraisal about how best to deliver services and how the team will continue to work with contractors to ensure performance levels are maintained. We will also combine our void and repairs contracts to improve service delivery and get better value for money.
